Alison Maria Krauss - born on July 23, 1971, is a popular American bluegrass and country vocalist. Her career in music began in the early years, winning local contests by the age of 10 before recording her first album when she was 14 years old. She signed with Rounder Records in 1985 and made her debut self-titled album on the label in the year 1987. Then, she was invited to join Alison Krauss Union Station, which is the group she performs with. Her first album in a group with this band was released in 1989.
