Sofia Pernas, a Moroccan born in California that grew up within Orange County, moved there when she was five years old. Her biggest break came in the year 2015 when she earned her graduation from University of California San Diego. Pernas appeared as a guest on NCIS and Leverage, before securing the role of Marisa in The Young and the Restless. The actress, who left this soap at the end of 2016 took on the role as Catalina as a regular on Jane the Virgin. The model, who is fluent in four different languages, has been seen since appearing in The Brave and The Green Ghost as Hannah Rivera. She also appeared Secret Society of Second Born Royals. From 2019 to 2020, she was Lexi Vaziri in Blood & Treasure. Us Weekly reported in May 2020 that Pernas was in a relationship with Justin Hartley from The Young and the Restless. This relationship started when Chrishell Stause and This Is Us actress split in November of this year. In May 2021, news was reported that Pernas Hartley had recently married in private.
