Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe is a British-Nigerian mixed race child, was born to an ethnically diverse family from South London. Her father is Nigerian Swiss while her mother was English. Her family was raised in a council estate south of London. At the age 14she enrolled in The Brit School. In London she attended The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in which her acting diploma was obtained. In her time at the school, she performed in a variety of stage productions like the King Henry V's Princess Katherine as well as Wuthering Heights.
Madekwe began her acting career with a film titled Storm Damage. Since then she's made guest appearances in films like Teachers, Doctors Casualty Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's debut film role was Woody Allen's Cassandra's Dream (2007), alongside Colin Farrell. After that, she played Elisha in the single-episode BBC Three drama pilot West 10 LDN, and appeared in six episodes of Trexx as well as Flipside playing Ollie. In the ITV2 drama Secret Diary of a Call Girl was her first appearance in 2008 as Bambi. Madekwe also appeared on the comedy How to Lose Friends and alienate others (2008). She has performed on the screen in Little Sweet Thing, by Roy Williams, and Flight Path which was written directed by David Watson.
Madekwe had her official US debut in the 2009 drama The Beautiful Life, which only aired two episodes for The CW before being cancelled. Ashley Davenport, a character in ABC's Revenge drama, was chosen for her as Ashley Davenport. Madekwe had appeared in all episodes of the show's second season as a regular. In May 2013, the news broke that Madekwe will leave the show after her guest appearance in the first episode of the series' third season. From 2014 to the year 2016, she appeared on Salem as Tituba. Then, in June of 2012 the actress married her long-time boyfriend, actor Iddo Goldberg. Apart from Secret Diary of a Call Girl They have also collaborated with each other on Salem and Iddo Goldberg had an appearance with her on that show.
Ashley Leggat was born in Hamilton, Ontario, into an extended family of. She joined her parents, Roy and Patty along with her older brothers -Rob, Brett, and twins Todd and Bram. Ashley's family, which is all athletic, played baseball in summers and played hockey in the winter months. Ashley had never been able to actually walk. She was a dancer. So when she was two and a half and a half, she began to take part in Baby Ballet. Ashley developed a passion for dancing after she started Baby Ballet. After graduating from high school, Ashley danced competitively in the top divisions in tap, jazz, ballet, pointe, acrobatics, musical theatre, lyrical and hip-hop. Ashley won the best soloist award at every major dance competition, including International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance and many more, just to mention some.
